Brake Fluid

I am sure this has been talked to death....however. I came across an article comparing Tier 1 Racing Brake Fluids

On the face of the article I was impressed with Torque RT700 in the area of Compressibility. I have been used Castrol SRF for the past couple of years, but I am not immune to making a change "if it is better".

Does anyone have any experience with Torque RT700 and Castrol SRF and give their impression of both. Thanks in advance, Tony

In doing a little more research, it appears Torque RT700 is no longer available. I guess some type of internal strife, caused the company to go belly up. Oh well!

Exactly. Brembo HTC64T is far more superior than any other brake fluid on the market. Not just boiling temps, but also in terms of compressibility.

I don’t understand the love of Castrol SRF. It’s got a very high wet boiling point 519F but a really low dry boiling point 590F. One of the lowest of ester based fluids. Endless RF650 never gets any love but I believe the numbers show better performance with dry and wet boiling point. 622F/424F. If you change your fluid before track days your only worry should be dry boiling point. Endless surpassed Castrol a long time ago. F1 teams almost exclusively use Endless.

Agreed Larrio. I was going to give Brembo HTC64T a try next year, when I do my flush for the 20 track season. I came across the aforementioned article and noticed the Torque RT700. The author made a reference that Torque was hard to find. Of course, now I know why. I did see that as well about Endless was used by F1.

I heard the SRF lasts longer between changes and what I've experienced at least compared to common Motul but not the ones mentioned above.

Remember the moment you expose brake fluid to the atmosphere it becomes "wet". Therefore for most real world use - the wet B.P. is a better indicator than the dry.

I just switched from (fresh)SRF to the HTC64T, definitely a better pedal feel!

This is all very confusing to me regarding what is discussed here as “compressibility”, by definition, liquids are non compressible, period. Perhaps different fluids affect the seals differently, and perhaps, different formulas feel different when heated, but cold or warm, non should feel any different unless viscosity is a factor.
