Any good CARB Certified Long Tube Headers? (CALIFORNIA)

Hello guys. As you all know by now, California has a bunch of laws regarding car modifications, this is a problem for me. I am in need of a good quality set of N/A Catt Long Tube Headers, their all great but because of the CARB Certification I need one that is CARB Certified. If any of you guys could direct me to a site that sells such Headers for the Camaro SS that would be great, and if any of you guys do live in California and have had problems regarding this law then feel free to tell me how you dealt with it.

I also want to mention that this is my first performance mod, so if you guys have any ideas then please feel free to do so also.

You will not find a CARB certified long tube header in California. LT headers move the primary cat which voids being able to get certified.

The only option you have for headers that maintains OEM location is a set of shorty headers, which are a waste of money in regards to the gains they provide.

keep in mind, moving the cats runs afoul of federal laws ...it's just that many states dont care. Looking at a working catalytic converter wrong is against federal law.

and carb is adopted in like 16 states. Mostly states that have a history of horrible air pollution due to geography or population density or just want to avoid those issues before they start. It's less about being super strict about what you can do and what you can't and more about companies not wanting to spend the money to get something validated.

It would be nice though if some common sense was applied to approving parts, like for headers. They could test some super short headers, then test some super long headers and see if it impacts emissions.. if not, then you approve all headers that fall within those specs defacto. Instead of having to have every single variation of basically the same part have to be tested independently when they end up doing the exact same thing. meh. I'm looking forward to the era of electric car modding. Way less need for specialized large tools and machinery to work on electric. zero need for emissions approvals.

You have a great car with a great engine. Maybe go with a nice axle-back exhaust but otherwise leave it alone.

Maybe join a local Camaro club.

Well, he might be better off just enjoying the car when you consider the exhaust noise law for California

If you kept the stock headers, and got a straight pipe that deletes the secondary cats, would you fail California emissions?

Are the primary cats enough to remain carb compliant?

If everyone in California drove electric cars it would only be a matter of time before CARB found that electric powered vehicles are a threat to the environment. They are NOT going to create the perfect scenario where they no longer have a job and taxpayer funded pensions. That is just the way California rolls. If they test your exhaust emissions and the exhaust is clean there should be absolutely no need for a visual inspection.

No,
If it’s good or it works it’s a legal in California.
If it tastes good, spit it out.

You got that right. CARB is a wacho group that spends nearly $1 billion a year in tax money on themselves. I remember one year CARB wanted to outlaw certain paint colors, because they absorbed too much sunlight that would heat up the interior, requiring more air conditioning.
