ecm and stand alone loom

Hi, new to the forum and I need some help I am in the process of installing an L83 and 6 speed auto into a '63 Pontiac convertible. In mid march I sent my ecm and $1100.00 to some crooks. Don't know if I can mention their name on the forum but they are in Ovid Mi. I now am in need of another ecm and stand alone loom. Is there an HONEST AND RELIABLE source somewhere out there.

Also is there an opinion on the variable displacement, this swap is strictly for economy, should I keep it or take out all the hardware eliminating a potential source of breakage. The Indian runs fine and I would not be afraid to start it up and head across the country but it wants premium fuel at 12 MPG and it does not have the kind of performance to warrant that kind of appetite.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as this was supposed to be done for this summer.

GM makes a standalone harness and ECU just for these swaps. you should contact GM performance to just get the ECU and harness from there LT1 Connect and cruise. https://www.chevrolet.com/performanc...rtrain-systems then you have a dyno tuner tune it.
