Noise when opening door
I have a brand new (450 miles ) 2020 SS Convertibele which is garaged and driven periodically when the roads are dry and free from snow/ice/salt. When I open my door to get into the SS it makes a noise like something is winding/resetting/setting.... kinda hard to describe! Anyone else experience this or know what the sound is?

Yes my 2016 SS I had did it and now my 2017 ZL1 does it too! Not real sure what the noise is though! Don’t think you have any worries or issues!

I actually just read through previous threads on this topic (should have done that first). It seems like it’s the fuel pump! Thanks for the response though!!

Now that you mention that I do remember reading that thread! Older age is starting to work on my memory now! Lol

Sounds like a fan coming on to me. But, it doesn’t do it every time. I’ve wondered the same thing. Maybe somebody here knows.

It's an alien waking up to take you for a ride.

My 2020 ss does the same but only after it sits for at least and hour or two after being driven. It will also do it if you open the passenger side door first in the same conditions. (In non technical terms) I figured it was the car getting itself ready to be driven haha
My 5th gen v6 didn't do this, though.

My 2020 makes the same noise. Just thought that it was a waking up sound.

Sounds like the same thing on the 5th gen Camaro? Plenty of threads on it being something with the HVAC system.

You're probably just hearing the fuel pump/pumps priming.
