Well, obviously GM owes you a replacement part.

But in the meantime, to avoid getting cut again, take a piece of emery cloth to it and knock down the sharp edge!!!!

Today my service adviser told me that door handle shows out of stuck in their system where they can order parts. He said it happens when there is no plan to produce that part anymore. Which is so weird considering that part is for 2016-current Camaro's. How could they stop making spare parts of current production car ?

Also he said there is change GM might charge me for it because part is arriving after warranty expires. Another hassle waiting for me...

Your service advisor is either an idiot or just doesn't want to deal with you... maybe both. Sounds pretty shady that they'd deny it if the part came in AFTER you had it ordered while you WERE under warranty.

I noticed mine was peeling on my passenger side door a year ago that gets even less use than my driver side! I have like 22k it is very minor and now I can feel it starting on my driver side, again very minor. My car will be 3 years old next month.. my dealer has been exceptional, and i've always rated them 5 stars, they treat me really well.

I don't know why dealer to dealer can be a pain, gm pays for the parts and labor don't they!? I didn't buy a brand new cars for bits and pieces to be breaking and not working properly. That's what I told my adviser from the start and they take care of whatever, and have gotten me rentals when it'll be in the shop for a day or more... I've had my share of issues. All resolved in a timely manner.. hope you guys can communicate clearly to them but be courteous and always give them that 10/10 even if they weren't perfect...

Not trying to jack the thread, but this type of binary corporate review policy is the stupidest crap ever. 10/10 is a pass, everything else a fail, it totally defeats the purpose of requesting meaningful feedback. Assuming, of course, that it is the actual purpose, heh

"I want you to go get the General Manager of this dealership and then repeat what you've just said to me in their presence."

Try that, it's extremely effective.

Any chance you have a tint on the car? Could the peeling be from excessive heat if you park in the sun?

15000 miles seems pretty low mileage for a problem like this.

No Tint and yes it is parked outside. We have 4 other cars parked outside with no issues and all other cars we have owned(various brands/models) have never had this issue and I have asked friends/family if they ever had any similar issues. I also googled the issue and....

lots more results, this is just a sample, you would think it would not be an issue after all the complaints

The handle is plastic welded to the panel and there is nothing in the service manual about replacing it. I’d be surprised if that part ever becomes available. I’ve had one on order since sept of last year, and even though it’s still an active number, none are available currently.

Unfortunately right now the only way to fix it is to replace the door panel.
