Tachometer bouncing up and down randomly

Has anyone had their tachometer on both their driver display dash and heads up display, intermittently, bounce up and down randomly with absolutely nothing to do with how the car is actually being driven? In other words, everything sounds, and feels totally fine…

My dealership doesn’t seem to have any good ideas as to what the cost could be

Sounds like a tachometer sensor issue.

Thanks I’ll inquire about this.

For a little more information, that I kilometre bounces anywhere from 500 RPM to 4000 RPM, and sometimes it will do it for 20 minutes straight

I've had this happen on my Toyota Tundra. Check to make sure all your grounds are good and solid. Believe it or not, a bad wheel speed sensor can also cause this.

It's a ground issue. Double check ALL the grounds.

Ground issue as mentioned above. Common on these cars.

Thanks. I’ll let the dealership know, they did come up with something else, apparently an internal service board on this, but I imagine checking the grounds still makes sense

*Edit*
So the internal service bulletin is about taking the grounds, looks like everyone is on the same page, thanks!
