Just got a new LR caliper 85113991 and it is red like it should be. The picture of the black one is wrong.

Not trying to jack the thread, but I figured it might be a good place to ask about replacement pads for the BCD 1LE brakes. I've looked in other parts of the forum but haven't been able to get a straight answer. I'm looking to replace brake pads all the way around soon and didn't know which direction I should go.

1. Has anyone tried non-BCD pads on the stock BCD rotor? YES. A FEW HERE, INCLUDING MYSELF Any issues and/or performance increases/decreases? DEPENDS ON YOUR PAD CHOICE. ALSO THERE IS A NEW COLD RING CREATED WHEN THE ZL1 SIZED PAD IS USED. WHETHER IT IS A CONCERN OR NOT HAS NOT BEEN DETERMINED. I HAVE 4 TRACK DAYS BETWEEN HP1000S AND DS2500 WITH NO ISSUES. NO ISSUES AT REAR, EASY SWAP.
SEE POSTS HERE:

2. If the switch to non-BCD pads is worth it, what are the part numbers for the pads? Are they the same as the ZL1 non-BCD pads?YES

3. If I should stay with the BCD pads, what are the part numbers for the SS 1LE BCD pads?
FRONT: 85158659
THE 2023 MY IS SHOWING A NEW FRONT PAD #85639170. NOT SURE YET WHY THERE IS A PART # CHANGE.
REAR: 86780718
SS, ZL1 and ZL1 1LE BCD use the same pads

I've searched through the forums multiple times but haven't really been able to find a straight answer on any of these questions. I appreciate anyone's help here!

To update my non BCD pad experiences as of 9/2023:

I've done 4 track days with the typical GEn6 ZL1 sized DS1.11 pads with zero issues. No ice mode when running OE 3s and 3Rs in ZLE sizes. No abnormal transfer layer vibrations. I love this pad on track and they are great on the street with just a little bit of squeal. Great firm pedal with great modulation. If there is one negative beside their high price, it is that they are wearing the rotor. Since they are a race pad, they are designed to run at the higher temps. At low street temps they are in the abrasive mode of friction and this is what wears the rotor. The large BCD mass plus great Gen6 brake cooling contributes to very cool running temps on street.

Copper Free on 24 2SS 1LE but calipers are black

Currently looking at a car in Fremont, as a backup plan (still waiting on paperwork from current deal). California car, so I was expecting the copper free, and after reading here it seems like a good deal, only $500 more. Ok. but... window sticker shows copper free and says red calipers. Also lists car at dealership X in Davis CA, as does CARFAX. With an extra service at 5 mi for "tire pressure and condition check". Out of the several 2024 I have looked at, they all say 4mi on CARFAX. So it stands out a little, that's all.

Car is currently on lot in Fremont CA, at dealer Y, and pictures show black calipers, but it has the satin hood wrap. As far as I can see, calipers do not say 1LE. I actually like the look of black vs red, but is there anything to worry about here?

Are you saying there is a 2024 for sale with 5 miles on it, a full satin black hood wrap, and non-1le calipers? That is suspicious. Is it a 1le vin number?

Are they actual pictures of the car or the computer generated pictures that Chevrolet publishes on chevy dot com and on dealer's websites? If the latter, the caliper color on those pics is wrong. All 1LEs, with or without the copper frees and whether they are the SS or the ZL1 will come with red calipers with the 1LE logo.

Send me the VIN # via PM, I'll look up the RPO codes.

I don't think a few miles on new cars is an issue. If they travel by rail there's gonna be some travel to holding lots between depots.

Pictures look like they are at the dealership. Unsure there. I will post the link to the car page. I was able to close on a different deal today, so the CA car is now a moot point for me. But I am still curious too.

It gets more interesting. Dealer website is showing 100 miles in the description.
https://cws.gm.com/vs-cws/vehshop/v2...448&bac=256332

The 5mi was from Carfax

The mileage difference is almost exactly the drive from dealer listed on window sticker, to dealer it sits at now.

The caliper in the one dealership photo that depicts it has some aftermarket sticker, there is no stock caliper with this giant white curvy CAMARO lettering. Definitely worth a question along with the mileage, since the dealer's pictures show a 1LE with 4 miles on the odo, which is typical for an ordered car that is not driven at all after production.

That picture is definitely a Chevrolet sourced computer generated pic. I've seen those pics before. Ignore it. The actual car will have the red calipers.

Congrats on the the other car!

Hello there! I am wanting to order rotors and pads for a BCD-optioned 2022 ZL1 1LE. I found all parts, except for the rear rotors... part 84519605 is apparently discontinued, and I have not yet found a replacement part number. Does anyone have that handy?

(I found 2 Canadian dealers showing them as apparently in stock, but I suspect the shipping would be killer!)

Any pointer would be much appreciated, thank you!!!

I ended up contacting a local dealer's parts department, and it turns out that part number 84519605 is back as being available, and so is still the current part number for BCD-optioned cars' rear rotors.
