How to clean and maintain your foam cannon

If you have a foam cannon, inevitably, it will get clogged and not produce good foam.

Why does it get clogged?

Hard water with minerals, coagulated soap and rust are the culprits.

How to clean it?

Dissemble the foam cannon head and soak the parts in a calcium, lime and rust remover such as CLR.

Remove the hose barb. This is the source of the rust.

The foam cannon has a small orifice screwed in to the head that foams the soap. This is usually the clogged part.

Unscrew the orifice and remove it

Remove the rubber o-rings and soak the metal parts in CLR for 24 hours

Take the parts out of the CLR, rinse and brush away any rust and minerals. Reassemble.

You can run fresh water through the cannon after each use to flush out coagulated soap. Thick soaps tend to do this more. You can also run a CLR solution through the cannon.
