My 5th vs. New 6th gen
I drive by this Chevy dealer at least once a week and there's a new black ss that ways catches my eye. Today I pulled in and snapped a couple of pics so I could compare to see which one I like better. I think I'll keep mine.

Have you driven the 6th Gen yet ? Those redline editions like in your picture give you some nice extra goodies , great looking car . You have to drive a Gen 6 to fully enjoy it , the looks are much better after the first drive . I loved my 2014 1LE but i was ready to give it up after the first 45 seconds driving the new 1LE .

I'm sure it's a great car and I'm not saying mines better.
I just can't see it in my garage yet. I don't care for the red accents. I would prefer all black. |

Your car looks great. The 6th gen front looks like the white car beside it.

That weird shaped quarter window and strange door lines totally changed the character of the car. Looks like any other car on the road now... No thank you.

I’ve driven several 6th Gen SS rentals. The 8-speed tranny (are they 10 now?) makes them seem fast and torquey as hell - which they are. But I still love the melding of the classic lines with the new on our 5th Gen. In fact, I’m glad they sort of effed up the 6th otherwise, I’d be staring down a new 5-7 year payment schedule.
Love your Z wheels. Keep it!

Gen 5 - better looking, more room
Gen 6 - faster, better handling That’s my opinion at least. Great cars both of them, it all depends what you are looking for. |

You made a very good choice in keeping your car, it's so much better looking. When I look at the 5th gen I feel excited, it has that look of aggression and classic muscle car/hot rod vibe, I ran to the dealership when I found the one I wanted. When I look at the 6th gen I feel nothing. I've tried to like the 6th gen but it just doesn't excite me like my 5th gen does. The 6th Gen just looks too generic, it sits up high in the front like a 4x4,they ruined the quarter window as others have stated and took away the gills. Those cheese grater vents they put on the SS hood, who's idea was that? To me it only sort of looks like a Camaro, it's identity has been stolen. I don't care how well it performs, why would I pay for a car I sort of like? I'm going full house on modding my 5th Gen soon and it will be a lifetime member of my garage. If Chevy put's out another generic, bland Camaro with the 7th gen then I'll be adding a Vette to the stable and skipping the Camaro altogether.
