I loved the concept when I saw it back in 2007 at GM Carlisle. Told myself I would order one
as soon as they became available. I've been a happy camper ever since my SS was built for
me on 8/4/09. Trips to Valdosta, Indy, The Homecoming, etc are great memories.
Thanks Scott and I enjoyed meeting and talking to you a few times.

2004 crash standards,The CAW contract, low sales volume and not having a new platform ready were the biggest reasons.

BTW hope your enjoying your retirement Scott.

I hope you write that book I would buy one

I was there with Scott the day they unveiled the concept Camaro in Detroit on January 9, 2006. Here are a couple of pictures.

^^ Don't you love the concept sans the horrible B pillar? I discussed this with Scott a couple
of times as it totally changed the look and feel of the production 5th gen. Other than that
the final product was spot on. Sorry Scott, I know I'm beating a dead horse here.

The 2010 Camaro was a huge success! The Camaro's team passion to bring back the Car was unmistakable in its final design and fine lines.

I can honestly say, this 2010 Camaro has brought me and my wife closer, met new friends, traveled to new places... just because of this car. I would of never thought that would be possible, but I have lived it. We love this car, and what happiness it has brought us can't be measured.

Thanks Scott, for all the passion to bring this car to the world, and how it has changed so many lives.

A book. PLEASE!!

Would love to know the real reasons why they went away, the real reasons that kept them away for such a long time, why the Firebird didn't come back, and what was planned as the 4th gen replacement before the 4th gen ended (I understand it might have been a more Monte Carlo-ish vehicle).

Inquiring minds want to know.

Chris Livote, one of the Camaro Disciples - snapped this picture of me shortly after the announcement --my smile says it all -- it was one of the best and proudest days of my life. (....I had a lot more hair back then...........) GREAT DAY INDEED!!!

Bugs me about the 50th anniversary claim by Chevy when there was a 7 year hiatus, but MrChris comment shed some light and softened me a bit with this comment:

If the Camaro had remained, it's difficult to guess how it would've continued to evolve from the 4th gen. However, with it going away for a bit, it created a 'clean slate' and the outcome was an absolutely stunning car, top to bottom. It's one of those rare designs that just looks great from every angle.

I could look at my 2013 convertible all day, the details are striking automotive design.

I still remember almost EVERYONE in the movie theater clapping in Transformers 1 when the "new" Bumblebee showed his face in that tunnel.

Still loving mine every time I drive it. Thanks for bringing it back!!

For me what is always so incredible is how close the production 5th Gen was to the Concept.

Congrats on such an incredible moment and everything that followed..there is no doubt at all of your impact and the car so many of us love.
