So much to the theory that the only reason the Mustang was doing well in sales was it was cheaper, and that the increased price of 2018 models would tank it. Also Challenger still continues to do very well in year 10 of the present Generation. Where are the Camaro numbers?

Mustang
May 2018 - 8739
May 2017 - 7895

Challenger
May 2018 - 7005
May 2017 - 6989

GM releases sales figures quarterly now iirc. So next month we should see something.

How many of those are GTs? Almost every Mustang I see is a non-gt. Plus, how many are 2018s? Unless I'm mistaken in which case someone correct me. No break down. Lots of 2017s still for sale.

If those are mostly 2018s, the Ford service departments are probably celebrating. Big raises for everyone!!

I don't think 12.20@114 in a 15 mph head wind and 1480 ft air density is too disappointing.

That plus two others in the same session ran 12.0 and 11.8.

Let’s face it, Ford has delivered performance in the 2018 Mustang GT. Good for them. They have some quality issues they have to address and I’m sure they will.

Disappointed the car is laying down for some reason? Sure. But a 12.2 with the car laying down is nothing to be disappointed at.

Have you had your heavy hitter out to the track at all?

I just saw his follow-up post with the other times. So, if there was no headwind and sea-level dense air, the 'stock' guy that pulled off an 11.8 would have probably done an 11.6 or 7? Even the hero runs weren't that good. I'll come right back here and eat crow when I see that with my own eyes at a test and tune.

Yes, Ford delivered performance with the 2018s, and I believe sub 12s are doable stock, but it's not easy, and even modded cars have a hard time pulling it off.

As far as the quality issues being fixed, if their track record is any indication, it ain't happening any time soon.

When I rack up some more miles, I'll probably run it to see what it can do.

have you bothered to look at the Camaro/ problems/ warranty issues forum in this Camaro forum? the 6th gen Camaro isn't exactly immune to issues. in fact it appears there's plenty.

I look at it everyday. A lot of necro, speculative and newbie posts. Some legit, others, not so much. This is pretty much what you'd see in any forum with a dedicated problem section.

No, the Camaro is not immune from issues and I'll never make that ridiculous claim either. But I will say, as of right now, the nature and severity of the issues the plaque it aren't the same.

What the 2018 Mustangs are going through is severe. And it's not just a few either. It seems to be a culmination of poor engineering, bad choices and corner cutting. And it started way before the 2018s, but was much more subtle.
