rear DR and Slick for 1/8th mile
I have an M6 and I'm mainly an auto guy. My local strip has POOR prep and has gone to 1/8 mile for most races. I need consistency. I'm thinking 10 or 11" wide on 18" rims. Please give me suggestions on type of DR or Slick and reasonable rims.
Also If somebody has an opinion on just sticking to 20" factory take offs and a DR / Slick I'd be interested in hearing it. I like the idea of matching rims when I race. |

Oh I should add, I'll probably never go past a mild NA build:
CNC heads, intake manifold, TB, mild cam, tune, headers full exhaust. Say 525 HP. |

I'd first take it to the track and get a baseline and get used to driving that car at the track. I ran an 18" on my supercharged g8gt, Nitto NTR's or M/T drag radial. My car went the fastest with the M/T and had the best 60' times with that tire.

I run my M6 on Slicks & Skinnies, but you have to go to a 17" wheels to do that. 17" rims are not cheap though.

I was under the impression that 18" were needed to clear the rear caliper.
I did find a 275 40 on 20" MT that would fit stock take off 9.5" wheels. |

I like M/T, my strip really sucks. It not like Houston or San Antonio which have really nice and prepped tracks. Heck my stock Civic can but through two gears... |

17" Bogarts or Welds fit the 5th Gen SS for sure.

I plan on using the new MT 20" DR. might as well since I have my stock wheels sitting in a box in the garage. Gotta love getting an extra set of wheels when you order the LPO lol

they are a little tall. http://www.summitracing.com/cart/add...uyNowButtonMTT I hope it is enough, as stated my track is really really bad. Worst than the poduck track in my hometown in west Texas. I was thinking 305 or even 315 on 10 to 10.5 wide

I have lpo wheels also and just stretched my extra 9.5's to 11 and ordered the 305/35/20 m/t's. I'll keep you posted on the clearance of them if you didn't already buy the other ones.

I run a set of DRs and a set of slicks on Welds that I bought for my 12 ZL1. There are no clearance issues at all on a 16 SS but you need lug nuts. The 16 SS lug nuts are too big to fit. Suggest that when balanced, you keep the weights to the inside as much as possible to avoid the calipers. I'm not saying this is the best setup. I had the wheels and tires on hand and bolted them on. Both combos worked.

what diameter were your welds?
I found this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/18x8-5-18x9-...BWLVwg&vxp=mtr 18x9.5 and that let me run 305/40R18 N555R I still have one Challenger left so a unilug for now is preferable.

Awesome if this works that might be the route I go. I've always been nervous about putting bigger tires on smaller wheels. width wise of course.
