For those that use the XGPS-160, where do you mount it? I've seen people mount it on the dash and I've seen it mounted on the trunk forward of the spoiler. How is it powered / does it require a power source? If it is battery powered how long does it last?

My Dual XGPS160 Skypro GPS came with a sticky/friction mounting base. I just put it on the dash and it stays put, even when running 3Rs. It has a battery. I charge it before each track day and it has had enough capacity to run all day without recharge.

Garmin Catalyst unless you want to do serious data analysis.

I velcro'd mine to the rear deck center speaker of my ATS-V so it has an unobstructed view of the sky. Stays put 100%, connects quickly, A++ would recommend.

My experience with a GPS receiver (in a much older MaqQData data acquisition system) is that if you want to see the accurate lateral g-forces, you need to mount it around the center of the car, probably on the roof. When mounted on the dash (as I do), it will show the higher g-forces, because there are higher transient accelerations on this part of the car, especially in the tight turns. And the farther form the center it is, the higher g's you will see. But for relative evaluations it doesn't matter much, and mounting on dashboard is more convenient.
