It will be bad news if you let the cans get full. If they get past the baffling, there's a chance that whatever is caught will get sucked right back up into the system. It's better to keep that from happening by getting your distance intervals down for when you check the cans. Hope this helps, and feel free to keep posting what you catch as the weather gets warmer!

So a good rule of thumb would be to check them at every fuel stop initially?

That actually would be a pretty good measure! From a full tank to low should be close to maybe 400-500 miles (depending on how you drive?), so using an interval with that distance should give you an idea. I'd also do that periodically as the weather warms up because that can change the amount of content that collects.

Ideally, this procedure should be done during every oil change, but starting off, it's important to check how much you catch in the first few hundred miles of driving so you can gauge how often it needs to be emptied.

Just did mine! Very happy with the color. Going to hold off on my radiator hoses until I get the intake and do it all at once.

^ Looks good with the matching cover paint!

Have you done much driving with them on? how much blowby are you accumulating?

No. I will periodically check it and let you know. I only drive about 25 miles a day.

I want to collect a beaker of it like Mishimoto did and let it sit to see how it settles.

After that ill likely be disposing of it at work as we have hazardous waste here I can just toss it into.

Any garage tho would take it from you, unless they are anal about it

It would be neat to see the differences in accumulation from Mishimoto's southern climate testing vs. your much colder climate testing.

This is what Mishimoto collected with the two catch cans over a 1600ish km or 1000ish mile distance... It would be interesting to directly compare them:

Most auto parts stores will take used oil for recycling!

Would be very interesting if someone sent their catch can oil to a lab like Blackstone for analysis!

That would be interesting... I'm down for that, anyone else willing so we can get comparative results?
