Regular, Plus, or Premium

*disclaimer*This may sound like a stupid question. It's my first ever Camaro and I'd like to take care of it.

Hi all, I just purchased a new 2017 1LT and I've wondering trying to figure out which type of gasoline to get. I put regular on my first fill up and I just filled up my tank with premium to determine and difference in performance and mileage. The manual recommends putting premium on it and I've also heard from people saying to put premium on the car. Any suggestions? Thanks!

PS: here's pics of my car: http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=475957

The manual recommends premium, so you should probably use premium.

Use the highest grade/octane gasoline you can find if your looking for maximum performance.

Or use 91 premium minimum no matter what. 91 usually has no ethanol added. Which is slightly better for good fuel mileage compared to 93/94 octane which has ethanol blended in. Ethanol increases octane but can slightly reduce fuel mileage.

I usually run only 94 octane.

Now that I think of it...we don't have ethanol sensor in the LTG....am I wasting money on 94 octane?! I know theoretically it will reduce the chances of knock retard and allow for max timing and boost but perhaps my engine doesn't know it's getting a higher octane because the 3 extra points are directly from ethanol.

Use Premium. The first full tank of gas the dealer gave me when I bought the car was unleaded and also the sales person said it is fine to run on regular unleaded, but for my later fill-ups, i used the 91 Octane and could feel the difference.

PREMIUM only. IMHO

I fill up premium for my turbo all time but I'm curious about regular gas so I used one time then never do it again.

To all: I'm definitely feeling the difference now that I'm running premium. Thanks for the answers! It's so much pricier though lol

On a positive note, you get to feel like a badass asking to fill it "Super," at least for me

Back in the day the attendant came out asked what kind gas you want. Also checked your oil and washer fluid. Haven't seen this done in years.

I would like to know the answer to this. I have been using 94 last few fill ups but won't be doing it if there is no reason.
