Muffler choice.

Hi everyone,
I'm the new guy!
I have a 2017 1LT Coupe 2.0 Turbo.
Got about 1800 miles on it so far and loving it.
I've researched axle back mufflers and 'up here' I'm not yet sure what's available.
I'm thinking either a Borla ATAK or S Type or the Flowmaster American Thunder. At this time I don't want the mid pipe. I see both mufflers are on E-Bay.
I prefer a growl to a bark. I've watched both vids on You Tube. Just not sure.......
Any advice or experiences are appreciated.
Thanks
John

Thanks,
Stock isn't too bad, a great comparison of stock and all 3 Borla options is available to watch on You tube....

I am fairly certain those Borla videos are all axle-back.

Unless it's a V8 or 4cyl wrx, sti, evo, vw rabbit r it does not sound ok with exhaust.

^^^^^^

Completely disagree with people discouraging putting performance exhaust on I4 and V6.

I have test driven both and there is quite a difference. Some V6 cars come stock with NPP

Actually since I4 and V6 are nimbler than the V8 I think it's even more enjoyable on these cars.

I have to disagree with this completely. To each their own. Respect

I'd think the S-type without mid-pipes might be right up your alley for what your looking for OP. As for the discouraging people I notice they all drive V8's so there opinion on the matter is pretty moot but cool that your checking up on us big bro.

I agree it's up to you. It's your car. Just pick an exhaust that doesn't sound like a beat up Civic.

Totally up to you.

Personally the only 4 cylinder I enjoy hearing are Subaru. Just sounds like a beefy engine through the exhaust.

Also heard a few ecoboost mustangs that sounded good with whatever exhaust setup they had.

I'll likely go mid pipe kit at some point just to shave off weight and improve flow. Perhaps consider corsa exhaust when they release a kit for our cars.

Having listened to the exhaust note of the Borla and Flowmaster on You Tube I have to say that it does make the I4 sound GREAT.
Any more positive opinions out there ?

I love the sound of my MRT catback. They have the axle back options too. I think the complete muffler delete option is my favorite.

And all these SS owners need to go hate somewhere else. What a great example of everything wrong with people in the Camaro world...
