I thought I understood everything about the Driving Modes but I guess not.

Question, I searched the forums, but couldn’t find anything on this. I know we have the 4 driving modes, and I also know you can go into engine management settings, and manually adjust certain things, individually: Engine Sound Management, Steering and Suspension(in a manual transmission this is all that can be adjusted, obviously, no shift adjustments)…

Here’s my issue. I thought if I was in, say, Sport Mode, and I adjusted individual settings, while in that mode, when I then switched to another mode, like Touring or Track, all of the components would switch to what they should be, in that mode choice.

I typically drive in sport, but leave the Suspension in Auto Mode. I switched to touring mode, using the button behind the shifter, and it reads touring on the instrument panel, but nothing changed when I go into the Driving Mode settings on my infotainment screen. So, essentially, the button did nothing, unless even though the settings still read my individual choices from Sport, it would switch in the car, but not show on the screen I’m hoping someone understands this better than I do. lol Thank u in advance!

As soon as you switch the settings from auto to your desired choice in the screen then the physical button does nothing. The button will only switch settings if the settings are set to auto.

Like the above poster said, once you go into the settings and remove it from auto, they will stay to whatever you set them at.

The only thing that changes when you switch to a different mode and everything else is no longer set to auto would be the throttle pedal sensitivity.

Thank you! It’s been so long, since I started driving it with my individual preferences, I forgot that(Auto) was the setting it was originally in, so that the mode selector button switches the modes for you. Much appreciated. I just changed my dead battery out, and was making sure none of the setting I had, lost memory when the battery was disconnected, and I went down a rabbit hole and lost my way! Lol

Agree 100%, removing and then putting that thing back in after winter storage was a pain. Just a tight area with no room to move.

When you change the settings on the screen, the button actually still has one effect, and that is the throttle curve.

I can’t wait to try that out, in the proper setting! I have yet to go for it. Lol

You have mag ride so when you change into sport or tour it changes the suspension also. I leave mine in track exhaust, tour steering, auto for the rest. Track mode also changes my shift points and 5 optional competition modes. When you change with the toggle button nothing changes in the menu screen, menu screen overrides the toggle settings.

And if he had an auto, he could discover Performance Shift Mode as well, yum

Anyway, the idea with the driving mode design is that the car offers a bunch of "dimensions" to tweak, some of them are hardcoded to modes, others can be linked to the driving mode switch (when you set them to "auto"). These latter ones, when you unlink them remain the same no matter the mode switch, because, well, you just unlinked them. The coupling is easy to reestablish with the "auto" setting of the respective dimension.

The only great feature missing from this design is the concept of profiles where you could save individual combinations into and save/recall them using either the screen or a dedicated button ("Z mode", "M mode" etc.). Guess the team was told they were only allowed to add this to the Corvette.

See a table with all the available "dimensions" below.

I think I remember seeing some graphs of the throttle curves on here but can't find it now, anyone have a link to it?
