I agree with you on that. I had the same issue, thought they would have been more willing to work with cash. The manager said we get the money either way and make money to finance.

Usually a $1K or $2K discount if you finance through GM. So even if you have cash, just make a huge downpayment, e.g. 90% and finance the rest, then turn around and pay it off in a few months. They usually ask for you to pay on it for 6 months, but there's nothing legally binding you to that.

Don’t undercut the significance of the last day of the month, especially late in the day.
I think most people know about the quotas, they just don’t take full advantage of it. You have a LOT more leverage at a dealership when their monthly sales performance is potentially on the line. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Ok,,,, no deal- not even close. I love Rally Green, but best I could snag was my supplier pricing. I told them I’d throw a deposit down and wire the remainder Monday to get to $65 ($76 MSRP); he wouldn’t even take it to the manager. Didn’t even counter.
If nobody will do anything to earn business on an inventoried car, might as well order what I want. Frustrating... especially given Rally Green is probably not an option. Same deal on a black one. I cannot find a deal on ZLE. Maybe shift gears to non track version... But my oh my, love the looks of the LEZ... they are a beasty beauty. |

That’s pretty messed up to not even counter.
If i were you, I’d message all the ones online you like...see who wants to sell a car, and be prepared to make a long drive or possibly flight. My deal was complicated because i needed a guesstimate on my trade in good faith the car was in the shape i said it was...many dealers did not like that. But luckily one about 3hrs away was willing to do what i wanted...had they backed out, the next closest was 8hrs away in Chicago lol. |

Another reason I ordered my ZLE. I thought to myself if I get a ZL1 I’m going to be saying to myself, I should have got the ZLE. So I just ordered the ZLE and got what I wanted. Plus it was the first new car I have ever ordered. Dream come true.
I would suggest you order one. You’ll love the car and you’ll get what you want. |

Another aspect in support of that is I expect incentives to either stay the same or improve in this uncertain environment. I also prefer more interior goodies (CF dash, red pads, belts, etc) as opposed to PDR, which I don’t expect I’ll use much if at all. |

I think the incentives will improve. Whether they will apply to a ZLE is unknown as it is a specialized vehicle. I live in Canada but when I went to go order my car there were no incentives for a ZL1. Any big sales ads in the newspapers always had in fine print that it excluded ZL1. But, the car makers are gonna want to move cars so......

You can buy the car without ever setting foot in the dealership. I worked the deal via email and phone and had the car shipped to me. You can buy from any dealer in the country this way.

Ended up buying my Z from a dealer 500 miles away. I took detailed photos of my trade so we could arrive at a price I liked. I Told the dealer there was no point in me misrepresenting the trade because it would only hurt me once I arrived. We ironed out the price of the car, their DOC fees, and the trade 4-5 days before making the drive.
Spending a couple of hundred dollars on gas, food, and a hotel room is quickly forgotten on the drive back home. Very unfortunate they will not deal much now. I was afraid this would happen as inventory and buyers dried up. Dealership needs to make more money on every unit they sell to keep the doors open and employees paid.
