That, I think, is a record 5-year thread resurrection, and in a first post no less, congrats

This is all the service manual says about replacing the hood latch, it certainly isn't difficult, I had to unbolt it for the Velossa ram air scoop install.

Thanks for instructions the issue im haiving is there is a metal cover hiding the hood latch with a bunch of screws i dont know which ones to take off and if there is more of a project to replace this latch. I had made an appointment for ths dealer today was the service date problem went away 5 days ago now its back again that i canceled my appointment they always have a 9 day appointment schedule at chevy urgggg and ideas?
I can press lock 1 time alarm auto sets with out a 2 press with a beep. If i dobt beep remote then this problem is no more. Id want to replace latch or disable the hood latch sensor

Ah, you mean the center support. That doesn't have to be removed, but if you have chunky fingers that you can't wiggle through the hole in the middle (mine are borderline, hehe) or you'd simply prefer to, it's held in place by 4 bolts, you can leave the others alone (see below).

By the way, if you want to mitigate this problem by not using the remote so often, you can set the doors to automatically lock when leaving the car, check Settings > Vehicle > Remote Lock, Unlock, Start > Passive Door Lock on the infotainment screen.
