Thx OP!
What lug nuts are folks going with? I see Gorilla 20 pack # 78643N, but it is a small diameter design.......not sure if it will clamp enough

Also, was it determined if the OE Silverado studs are a good alternative for the ARPs?

I just did the front studs on my 2018 SS 1LE. I'm only using a 5mm spacer. I didn't have to remove the rotor or caliper since they can come out the back side. I also did the strut mod for more camber while I was in there.

I used:
  • ARP lug bolts # 100-7736 (1/2" longer)
  • 4lb Sludge Hammer (from Wal-Mart) for stud removal.
  • Lisle 22800 Wheel Stud Installer - This works great.
  • Gorilla black 45148BC-20 - 3/4" hex & recommended for aftermarket wheels. Works with stock wheels. Don't buy from Amazon, the ones I got from them had rust.
  • McGard 24220 Black Wheel Locks - only if you want to lock them up and works with stock wheels.

Rear stud removal

I am interested in this too..will the oem rear studs come out without removing the hubs..that would solve a lot of my problems!

axles have to be pulled from the hub and the hubs removed from the car
you may get lucky and not have to loosen/remove the knuckle to get the hub off

Been reading the repair guide on this. Looks like a lot of work and should probably be done on a lift to make it easier.

Basically disconnecting caliper, rotors, upper Lateral and trailing Link, pull out drive shafts and taking the hubs outs.

This guy did it on jack stands

When I pulled my RH rear wheel bearing, I did not pull either link. Caliper, rotor, half-shaft nut (and push / tap / press) shaft out of hub splines), speed sensor bolt, and the three wheel bearing / hub bolts. One bolt is easy to get to, one not so much, and one a bit hard to get to. Skimmed through the video. He pulled way more off than needed, but what he did wasn’t that much more time and gave you better access to the bearing hub bolts. All those link bolts are listed as one time use if you go that method.

So glad I found this thread. I followed the advice to leave the brakes on and was able to add spacers and longer wheel studs very easily.

It was almost like they designed the front with just enough room to get the stud out. Too bad they couldn't do something clever for the rears. I wound up having my shop do the rears.

You can simply knock out the studs with everything still in tact. For the passengers side, you can knock out the stud at the 9 Oclock position and pull it thru the two caliper bolts. Put the new stud in and you can pull it through with a stud installer tool and a lug nut, or two washers and a M14x1.5 nut.

On the drivers side, you will knock out the stud again in the 9 oclock position, however this time is is opposite of the caliper that it will come out.

This took me literally 5 minutes per side. Super, super easy to do on the 1LE's simply because of almost no dust shield.

Tools needed:
2lb sledge
https://www.amazon.com/TopBuilt-sled...+sledge+hammer

Wheel installer tool:
https://www.amazon.com/Lisle-22800-W...stud+installer

22MM socket, and either an impact wrench, or large 1/2 drive ratchet to pull the stud through (need a partner to hit the brakes for this method).
Are you talking about the front or the rear?
So, is there any possibility to change the studs on the rear without removing the hub?
