CF hood insert

Has anyone experienced a blemished carbon fiber hood insert from the factory. I am currently on my 4th insert from the factory and it appears as if the dealer is at a loss. They have confirmed that GM engineers are aware of the issue as well. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced it.

Had one on mine and hand rubbed it out with a 3M polishing compound.

Sorry will post pics tomorrow as I am at work currently. Looks like its a damage in shipping initially and GM Camaro is aware of it. Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing. Pics to come...sorry

I ordered it as an option on my car and it's flawless to my eyes. I polished it with finishing compound and coated it and it's crystal clear and has no blemishes that I've noticed.

Size: 175.8 KBI didn't notice any defects in my dealerships floor model insert. I definitely inspected thoroughly with more of a concern in the quality & consistency of the carbon weave.

The paint, on the other hand, is what I've come to expect in the last 10+ years regardless of manufacturer. It's sub-par and always needs professional level paint correction, film + ceramic coat if you want it to last. Yet another reason I ordered fresh and will fine-tooth-comb the vehicle before driving off the lot, delivering straight to my detailer.

Every car that I've ordered as a new allocation regardless of the brand has come with imperfections, any reputable experienced detailer should be able to fix if minor & might be less hassle depending on your dealership/budget. Hope my 3 cents is not off-topic.

My carbon insert had a section that looked hazed, like it had been burned by a buffing wheel. I didn’t notice it out in the sun at the dealer, but it was really obvious under the bright LED lights in my garage. They got GM to warranty it, and the replacement looked great.

So far I haven’t noticed anything wrong with mine. Of course here in Georgia we have the green stuff coating everything now. Pollen!

Insert looks good on mine. I hardly pay attention to it though.

Paint on the front fascia, missing.
