I am not all that savvy working on cars, but I am looking to change that. A step by step write up with tools needed and pics would be great for someone like me!

Pretty sure I got the key steps. I took a sweet baby rays container and measured water as I filled it to mark the volumes. Gloves aren't in the photo of needed tools but the bottle is clearly labeled as being a skin irritant so recommend gloves.

Good pics, I will ask a moderator to go through and clean this thread up and make it a sticky...

Sweet! Yeah my photos posted in reverse order of operations .. I think one of the previous posters made a great list that was concise so I didn't repeat it.

I just did mine, the bolts are different from the ss, the drain plug is facing towards rear of the car while the fill plug is facing towards the left driver side further up. Wish I saw this thread earlier I would of taken pictures but it just hit 100+ degrees, so I will not go under the car and take pics right now lol. But any help needed I don't mind to do so! I jacked the car up for the metal brace behind the rear differential as my jack points haven't arrived, I did lower the car and take out the drain plug to get all the oil out then jacked it back ip

I saw a thread recently in the break in or fluid section that had a pdf out of the GM maintenance book on changing diff and transmission fluid

Put in as much fluid as it'll take before it starts to leak out.
