Exclamation Procharger P1SC1 Advice

Looking into this pro charger for the near future and I’m wondering what components would I need to upgrade in order to sustain the power or what would I need to upgrade in general? I’m looking to stay/get between 500-800 HP. Any and all suggestions are welcomed, thanks

550ish rwhp on 93 octane with the standard pulley. You will need lt4 fueling to safely go over 600 rwhp. Then you hit an octane wall around 630ish rwhp. You either need to blend e85 with 93 octane or run full e85, however, full e85 will require much more fueling upgrades. Alternatively, you can run race gas (super expensive) . A port injection system should take you past 1,000 rwhp. Next, your factory pistons won't be very happy past 750ish rwhp and it would be a gamble taking them past that limit.

Great info and much appreciated. Btw what do you mean when you say lt4 fueling?

ZL1 in-tank low pressure fuel pump
ZL1/Z06 high pressure fuel pump
ZL1/Z06 fuel injectors

They’re all from LT4 engines/LT4 powered cars.

Sounds good thanks. And also I just did a little bit of research on the pulleys. So currently mines in the shop and I’m getting a tsp vvt3 cam, cai, headers and torque converter installed. That should put me some where in the 500’s if I’m not mistaken. As mentioned with the research I seen post saying change the pulleys(2.3 or 2.50-55), get a 103mm throttle body and of course the fueling(rails, injectors etc..) and that should give me 50-100hp? Idk if the procharger would be compatible with my current setup which I should have mentioned beforehand. But if it is or isn’t I’m thinking of staying between 6-700 I can settle for that at the moment. I just like the sound the procharger gives off but if just the pulleys and throttle body would get me to 6-7 ill take that over the procharger

Don't really think a larger throttle body on a ps1c is worth the money, but its not my project. Usually the bigger throttle bodies show their worth in naturally aspirated builds and bigger top mount blowers such as the 2650 magnuson and edelbrock.

So I should just go cam, procharger, pulley and fueling?

With that and full exhaust, you will have wished you bought a bigger blower the 1st time around. Welcome to the rabbit hole...

That's what I did. I also added a dual nozzle meth kit. As far the pullies, I think the smallest is griptec 2.7. I'm running the 3.7 and I make 10psi at my altitude of 4500'. Haven't had it on the Dyno since the I added the cam/3.7 pulley and added an extra nozzle of meth. Tuner says it should be around 700rw. I have plenty of fueling according to the logs.

If you want 800rw, I'd skip the P1SC and go right to the D1-X.

Large cam and little centri supercharger is a bad combination. cam overlap let's boost go right out the exhaust and you end up needing to spin the supercharger harder to make boost and that equals more heat. A build like yours would be better off with a stage 2 supercharger cam. The VVT-3 has 5 degrees of overlap which isn't a ton but on the high end of what I would want for a mild-moderate FI build. I wouldn't be using stage 3 anything unless your moving up into the D1x-F1a area and pushing 850+ whp.

Well that kinda sucks since I already bought the cam. I probably won’t change it out until some time down the road although I really like the sound of the vvt 3. But if possible what could I add on to increase the hp with the vvt 3 like I stated anything around 6-700 would be good but if I can’t then I’ll just play around with this for right now until I get more money to swap out for the stage 2 supercharger cam and procharger

It's not that you won't make power, you will make the supercharger run hotter to make the boost needed to hit your power goal. Cam overlap bleeds off boost so you have to pulley down to make the boost back up. A guy local did a gpi drop rods/piston combo, gpi ss4 cam, ported heads, P1sc setup. It needed like a 3.7 pulley to hit 10psi and IAT's hit almost 180 after a pull.

You also don't need a cam to make 6-700 with boost. The P1sc on 8psi with LT4 fuel system would be right around 600whp. Then you could add a Meth system and break 700. No need to cam the LT1 until you want to go 800+whp on boost. Then you might as well do rods/pistons/cam all at once.

Far as NA...you will want heads/ported msd/headers and E85 with that cam and it will run strong. If it's a A8 then you will also need a Converter. If you install that cam with essentially no other mods, it will sound cool but be slower then a well sorted bolt-on car.

Anyone have advice for procharging a completely stock ss 1le? I saw a guy goes by the name SixGunSled on YouTube that says he only did Procharger, headers and exhaust and got over 600. No mentions of any other upgrades or fueling. Do you all think I could reach 500 with just a procharger alone with literally everything bone stock?

500, yes, that’s pretty easy with forced induction. You can go probably 560-580 range without a problem. But 600 is pushing your luck with stock LT1 fueling components.
