Shift to park message

Lately when attempting to start my car, I get a shift to park message and it will not start. It started out when driving something would lose communication and all my gauges would go to zero, and the trans would be stuck in limp mode and not shift. If i turned the vehicle on then off, it would reset itself. Now it will not start at all. I have changed the shifter, installed a new battery, and verified no battery terminals are loose.

Any other ideas? Its a 2017 1ss, 416 H/C/I etc.

Thanks for any input!

Agree with tomcamaro1, this should be remedied under powertrain warranty. That new big ass motor doesn't exactly help your case, but this isn't engine related, so if they're reasonable, they will hopefully work with you.

There are a few threads here about the same problem, see https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=556720 for example. It's likely a shift position signal issue, but I don't know what the fix entails, the dealer may replace the entire shift assembly. Worst case you can replace it yourself, the assy is a $100 component, the shifter cable is $60, the indicator $50: https://www.chevydirectparts.com/v-2...-shift-control

I had all the same symptoms, turned out to be the transmission control module.

I've already replaced the shifter assembly with a new GM part. Working with my dealer here in town is not exactly going to work. They're sticklers and will not work with me. Something about the hi ram through the hood makes them unsettling

Thats what i was afraid of myself. I was hoping to have some feedback from someone who has been there, so I will start looking in that direction. Thank you.

Did you ever get this remedied? I am having the same issue with mine.
