Just out of curiousity.. how many $60k examples will actually be built? A fender hash sticker is most likely going to take it north of $60k.

I know that saying less than $60K sounds good, but I bet few of these will have MSRPs under 62-3k. Still not bad for what it is but...

And? The base price is what everything else builds off of. Nobody is excited about it because they have exactly $60,000 in their bank account ready to be spent on a C8. They're happy because its not 65k, or 72k, or 80k. And odds are, the options will still be priced like a Chevy, rather than say Porsche who is notorious for charging a lot of money for basic things (and even more for the not-so-basic).

I just keep seeing this "under $60K and under 3 seconds" crap.. which isn't even true as it requires the Z51 package to even get the under 3 seconds time..

It's just funny to me when people quote the price that almost no C8 will actually list for.

You would have to order one. No dealer is going to stock a base model.

Large volume dealer like Kerbecks would have base models stacked like firewood after the initial hype eases. I was looking at C7's recently and they had tons of them with literally no options.

You seem to be very angry and irritated and I don't know why.

Per GM brass, the base C8 price is under $60k and the Stingray will rip off 0-60 in under 3 seconds. That sentence is 100% true. A bare bones Stingray will cost <$60k and a Z51 that runs a sub-3 second 0-60, is still a Stingray.

I fail to see the problem.

I think his problem is with people saying things like this:

Where the performance figures quoted are conflated with the price mentioned, when its fairly unlikely that the cost of a C8+Z51 is still under $60 grand.

Correct. I’m not angry though. Hell I have a deposit on a C8....
