HPDE Day and OnStar 30 Day Free Trial?
Free Trial of OnStar for 30 days!
New 2020 1SS 1LE coming up to 1500 miles on the odometer, done the oil changes, Track alignment, and reviewed the settings for the Ride Control Systems. So I am ready for my first Track Day. But what about OnStar? Should I pull the fuse or unplug it? If so- Will that effect my other functions such as the PDR or anything else while at the Track? Has anyone else had an issue with any intervention or negative repercussions from OnStar at the Track? KEN |

Most of us would advise upgraded brake fluid (Castrol SRF, Motul, Brembo HTC)

If you are using the Cosworth tools you may need the GPS link. Just a guess. Unless your insurance company is using the data, just go and enjoy the car, GM could care less.

I wouldn't pull any fuses or disable onstar or anything like that for a track day. It's plenty fine to keep active on track.
I'd second that swapping to some good DOT4 is a must before going to the track if you haven't done that already.

Thanks for the replies re: OnStar question.
While I have your attention what are the 1LE's favorite fluids to drink for Semi-Competition (street/track car)? I know Castrol SFR brake fluid is #1 Engine Oil? (currently using Amsoil 0W-40 Signature Series Synthetic) Differential Oil? Tranny Oil? |

My preferred diff oil is just GM's fluid, GM PN 88862624 or ACD 10-4034. MT oil I used Redline D4 ATF. OE fluid doesn't seem to work as well when temps get low.
