How many miles is acceptable for a new car?

Assume you're getting a new ZL-1. How many miles would be acceptable to you at delivery?

Less than 100 to be sure. I would like to see only 10 or 20. Over 100, they need to discount the sale.

50-100 with a good inspection. Provided they know what they're doing, I have no problem with a car being transferred to another dealer via a driver… However longer than 100 miles I would negotiate a flatbed.

A high-performance Chevrolet as a dealer demo is a totally different animal… I simply wouldn't buy it.

Mine had 4 miles on it Many dealership won't even let you test drive one unless your name is ready to be signed on the line for that specific reason.

You'll be fine as long as it wasn't a demo. Also consider the type of dealer. If they're a majority Cruze leasing place that gets a "special" car like a ZL1 in once in a while, the staff/managers etc. are MUCH more likely to work one over for a weekend. If it's a high volume performance dealer like Kerbeck or Stanford, it's "just another Camaro" to them and they just do the work and park it. No drama.

I'm EXTREMELY OCD when it comes to people driving my vehicles. Even my pickup. I notice everything and even if it was there before, the question of did "x" do that to my car, even if unavoidable, is always in the back of my mind. I'd rather spare myself and others the blame so I just don't let anybody touch my stuff. I ordered my ZL1 and backed it off the truck myself, prepped it myself, washed it myself, and not a single person's behind has ever been in that drivers seat other than mine since 3 miles on the odometer.

My last car (Chevy SS Sedan) had 24 miles on it, and it came all they way from Kangaroo land. On flip side, couple months back when we were shopping for Honda Odyssey for wife, dealer had blue color (only one in city at that time) and it had 1700 miles yet he wanted full MSRP for it. According to him since it's never registered it's still "brand new". I had to tell him GTFO!!

I think mine had 15...after my test drive. This is the second ZL1 I drove from that dealer. The first time I drove one they pulled it off the show room floor for me! Based on that drive I custom ordered one...then decided a few weeks later I didn't want to wait and took one off the lot

It’s up to you to decide what is acceptable.
