Clutch in 6MT cars
Looking hard at getting a ZL1 and I want a 6MT. I've driven an 8AT SS but haven't found a local dealer with a MT car to test drive.
One of the main car mags had a long term Camaro and complained about the left leg hitting something while operating the clutch. It may have been the OBD2 port. Is this an issue? I'd hate to order a car that I'll keep forever and be cursing while using the clutch! |

M6 here....never had my leg or foot hit anything???
Maybe if you are a short legged guy and you have the seat way forward you might have your leg/shin close to the dash??

I love my M6. Even though my friends and builder dont... Too bad you don't live around here...
I'm looking for an aftermarket upgrade for my clutch...

I'm 5'4", have my seat way up, both ways. Never had an issue with my leg hitting anything. My husband is 6,4", his left leg doesn't hit anything either. The obd port is pretty low and tucked in good. Can't imagine what his leg might have been hitting, unless he has something in the obd port while driving.

I never hit anything, I'm 5'8 with the seat at neutral height.
Seat up or down, not even close to hitting anything. TR6060 tranny is badass.. lets you know when you have a lazy shift! Love the notchiness and most importantly, the tranny can hold up to 700-800 WHP. Last edited by Richard0nee; 08-09-2016 at 10:46 PM. |

6'3, seat where I like it, and haven't had my knee hit anything. Love having a manual again!

I'm 6'4" and I haven't hit anything yet. The only thing that I hate of the 6MT is the damn skip shift (1-4 shift). I just installed a skip shift eliminator and after a short drive I fell in love with my 6MT again.

Who on God's green goes over 800 whp? Lol.. that issss plenty! Clutch probably won't hold up after 600 tho :(
Auto is cool if ur always stuck in traffic, bad knee, want consistency for drag racing.. A few years ago when money was good, I had a chance to get a used GTR.. everyone thought I was nuts for turning it down. The deal breaker was the auto tranny. I will never buy a fast Auto car but thats me and respect those who does.. I don't drag race so don't realky care too much bout the few tenths. But yeah! Haha Last edited by Richard0nee; 08-09-2016 at 11:16 PM. |

6'1" - No problems. I love to shift this car. It's part of a total package. This car is so fun and engaging. I don't mind giving up a tenth to have so much fun driving.

Size 13 sneakers = catching toe on wiring above clutch pedal
Problem solved while doing wire splice for my RoadHawk camera Just re-routed harness UP Gas & brake r too close--I often look around to see who's wanting to race when I hear an engine revving at a red light, only to (blush) realize it's my damn right foot hitting gas & brake at the same time on my 1SS M6 Jeff |

No problem with mine either! The car is fun to drive with a 6 speed. Paddle shifters are really not shifting. All one does is use their fingers.I know several people that say they are shifting like I am in my m6 SS but they are sadly misinformed! Get an M6 in the ZL1 and enjoy the hell out of it!
