Until we get a "voice" command replacement they should have kept it. We have a replacement for cassettes and CDs. Yeah, with all the other cool infotainment features they added this single button sure is a step backwards. |

Its for the 19 car, and all we did was buy one out of a 18 car, and modded it to add both the On star switches in to it( yes its got the room for them as long as you don't have a sunroof) and next is the seat belt lights need to replace, the one on the home link console, that way all the wiring is right |

It will but will need to find a place to mount the On star buttons, when you see the pics you will get the point look for it in the DIY Technical Camaro Topics, i hope to have it all up for you guys this week.

Actually, my comment was squarely on point. People complaining this loudly about a truly miniscule luxury that went MIA makes for a pretty good example of being a bit spoiled. FWIW, it doesn't matter what the reason for Homelink's disappearance was.

I actually hadn't given it much thought until this thread, but now I feel like until I get it back. ... but then it's a garage queen and only comes out for track days. |

Home Link on 19's
“You don’t want to go down that road with me”
WTF is going on in here?! lmao! Fighting words being tossed around already and we’re only 3 days into the new year. I certainly understand the desire for homelink. I have all 3 buttons programmed in my 16. Yes, we know you can buy a remote or even use the smartphone app to open/close garage doors but there’s nothing wrong with wanting it integrated into the car. And there’s certainly nothing egregious about inquiring about why a feature that was offered as part of a particular trim is no longer available and if desired must now be retrofitted. Bickering like little bitches accomplishes nothing. There’s room for both opinions in 2019. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Edit: Most newer garage doors are wifi app capable anyways, homelink is obsolete just like the CD player

It's a good solution, but not as good as HomeLink, ime.

...and Offer makes his living solving these problems.
Right now I can't figure out how to get my car out of the garage without my homelink button. |

I understand what you’re trying to say but your logic is fatally flawed. The vast majority of people don’t replace their cars like they replace their CDs. Nor do they replace their perfectly functioning garage door motor units because a model came out that has WiFi. And while garage door openers may feature WiFi it’s not in the majority of openers and it isn’t a standard feature for most of them. It’s an upgrade. Homelink is nowhere near obsolete.
