I just put the decals on to bring the Transformer edition "back to life" after painted stripes. I was hoping they were a bit more black, but I will leave them for now.

Just turned 10,000 miles on 2 November 2011! Today is oil change #2. And the monitor says 41% life left. Will check the catch can, drain, and take a picture for "posterity."

5 Nov - dumped catch can (approx 2 oz)

& hard wired my radar detector using the DYI on here. It was an easy one.

I hard wired that connector, since the pigtail comes with a double crimp one. That way I can remove my work easily, if needed. Notice the ATC pigtail...oops. I wired an ATM one identically.

The ground wire. The rest was simply piggy backing off a fuse and hiding the cables. Easy!

The transformers stickers look pretty good. Did they fix the paint job?

It is fixed enough that I am satisfied. Thanks on the decal; I wasn't sold on it since it is more contrast than the original. But the wife likes it and it has grown on me. I took a road trip on Sunday and got a whole bunch of honks, grins, and thumbs up. Good validation.

Always a good sign when folks give you a thumbs up. Kinda hard not to at least respect the car even if you're not a transformers fan.

Just ordered my CAI...custom colors from Roto Fab. Will post pics as soon as I get it. Next I am looking into a custom engine cover and possibly a portrait to put under the hood.

Been a while since I have posted to this journal. A few updates to come.

Last fall (2012), my subwoofer blew out, so I went to Sonus Car Audio (http://www.sonuscaraudio.com) to get a replacement. I got a Hertz HX 250 sub and all was well again.

Then, in December 2012, I received a Facebook PM from Sonus that my name was drawn in a JL C5 Component speaker contest! Wow, that was probably the best thing that I have ever won. They installed the system, replacing the factory BA speakers, and I changed out my amp at the same time to a Hertz HP4 and added a sub control knob. Now the sound is even better. So when I can afford to add active controls, that will be the next thing for sound. The guys at Sonus do great install and fabrication work that is OEM in appearance and probably better in quality.

June 25, 2013...

On the way to work, the cruise control would not stay engaged. Of course, my 3 yr / 36k warranty ended this past April.

Then, when I went to the car at lunch, it would not start. All the lights/gauges cycled at "On", but everything went black at "Start", and "Service StabiliTrak" and "Service Reverse Sensors" messages showed up in the DIC when the key returned to "On". OnStar sent out a jumper vehicle...no joy. Then they sent a flat bed and we set off for the dealer.

I did some research in the forums and found that the likely culprit was an ECM failure, which I told the Deedra at the dealership about....

She called me this evening. Bad news, it is the ECM. Good news, it is covered by the 5 yr / 100k drivetrain warranty! Hooray!
