I think you misunderstood what I'm saying about the very real possibility that someone can buy a kit and get actual results below or well below advertised. I did not say it happens all the time, but it absolutely does happen sometimes, and when you're the one who has spent thousands of dollars for the kit, it sucks.

As far as my install, with the poor results we were seeing from this kit, the tuner did test it for boost leaks, and the only place air or smoke (2 tests) came out was the blowoff valve. I bought another new blowoff valve and it basically was the same performance. The car did not go back on the dyno with the new/new blowoff valve but MAP readings were pretty much the same between the 2 valves. The fact that the car was 7mph slower on the track than the car that is on the ECS website certainly tells us that mine was not making any power. In this thread, that car's owner is saying that his is making similar boost to what mine was, which is a real head-scratcher.

RageWorx, your trap speed confirms that my expectation of 125 from this kit was pretty reasonable.

Daves1SS, if your car did 511 then it's not the one I was thinking about. Thought I had seen one posted somewhere around 480hp. Definitely was 4-something not 5-something though.

Car put down like 495 whp until the third run when we literally put a leaf blower pointed towards the IAT sensor to get the IAT’s down some. Then it pulled like 511.

A year later I went back in silmilar conditions and it did 530 on back to back pulls, but with plugs only gapped at .032” (too tight and suppressing power) but with the killer chiller installed to control IAT’s so there wouldn’t be so much timing pulled like the first dyno session.

The edelbrock IAT sensor location is in the hottest location they could find, and really caused the car to dial back power when it’s hot out. In the summer, without a killer chiller, my car feels WAY down on power versus when it’s under 75-80 degrees out, especially in city traffic which is all my car sees. Now when it’s under 75 out, the car is fast and always puts a big smile on my face.

That’s why the killer chiller is such a benefit to maintaining good power in the summer, at least with an edelbrock car with their tune anyway.
Do you recall what boost you were running. That is about right for a car running 5-6psi.

No sir I understood what your saying and still disagree I can get the exact same results every time.

I have fbo and headers and heads and cam. Should I be worried about adding a supercharger also?

I started with Ted's street brawler package, then moved up to the super street brawler. I did the install, Ted tuned remotely. The results were exactly what Ted advertised.
Even with the street brawler, which I'm guessing is around 7 -8 psi the car was an animal, NO ONE would ever claim the results were at all mediocre.

Lot of great info and truth in these posts, but here's the really big risk with this whole thing, if you so much as get your toes dipped, no power will ever be enough
