Adding Homelink to a 1SS Convertible
I wanted to add homelink to get rid of my garage door opener sliding around. Here are the part numbers I used to install it in.
Transmitter 23341161 $99.18 Garage Door Opener 22834550 $15.25 plug and play harness from gen5diy http://www.gen5diy.com/Chevrolet/Cam...elink-Harness/ The install and how to get to the upper header portion is simple and plenty of how to videos out there, |

Hello. Please provide a few links detailing how to access the panel in the convertible. I’m only able to locate details on accessing the panels in a hardtop. Thank you!

Thank you for sharing. Meaning if I order the harness and the two others I am able to install the home Link? Is the cut out for the buttons already marked in the panel?

Yes you are correct on only needing to buy the parts I listed. If you look up towards the right side of your header panel where your dome lights are at you will see a rectangle plastic piece where the home link buttons go. When you get access to the back side of the header panel you will see two screws with a 5 point and a point sticking up in the middle. I did not have the tool to fit in there but if you grab the screw by the head with a pair of vice grips you can loosen it then remove it by hand. That plastic piece comes out and the homelink buttons will slide down and then you put the homelink transmitter on top of the buttons and replace the screws. Then you will plug in the new harness into the homelink transmitter and then install all your interior back. Took me about 20 minutes since I already have been in the header to put in the radar detector harness from gen5diy.
