broke 44mpg going to las vegas from south of LA. Avg speed was just shy of 80mph (total avg speed of the entire trip was over 70mph - no toll roads) very good drive up there

Driving on the way home was ruined though because people suck at driving and get into accidents. So i spent a good hour+ not really moving at all.

I was tempted to drive to vegas and back without refueling at all. 1 tank. But with the return traffic being as crappy as it was, i didn't want to risk it. Judging from the estimated miles i still had though, I'd have made it if the drive was as smooth as the one heading there was Especially when you consider that the return trip would have been going down in elevation.

was actually referring to the check engine light. Though, i guess it could be due to the car not actually running in retrospect.

Was checking to see if maybe really high mileage posts tended to run on the leaner side. I know mine does since every few months the stars will align and i'll tilt just into the range the computer trips the lean code for due to my aftermarket intake

I could not believe what I got driving in to Bishop from the Sierra mountains and I turned over 40,000 miles and loving it.

If it's stop and go traffic nothing is wrong. Don't go off of some peoples inflated "look at my posts!" numbers, real world is low 20's city and low 30's hwy.

all depends on how heavy you are on the gas and brake. I like to drive in a way that averages low teens in traffic.

on open highways it's more dependent on the incline of the road. The posts aren't inflated, they're a best case representation barring cheating by just coasting downhill. You can certainly expect to hit the 40's or get close to it on a flat road with cruise control and no strong winds. I've done it a few times going back and forth to arizona and vegas.

I am just about to hit 1500 miles and be out of the break in period. So far my overall average is 26.0 MPG, average speed is only like 32. I spend too long at stoplights.
