My car sat for 22 days with the Range installed while I was up in Canada for work. Came home and she fired right up.

I think the longest mine will sit is probably a week... not even a full week probably 5 days, I appreciate the info I'm heading home from work and possibly going to order one maybe try to catch a coupon or discount possibly.

*UPDATE*
I got my range device yesterday and took the car for a little drive and dear lord what a difference!! I feel like the car is just much smoother driving now.. no more of those jerky shifts. Plus a good bonus is I had a really annoying ticking when apply slight acceleration and it was AFM causing it because now it's gone! Money well spent |

Curious to see if any issues pop up and if it still works appropriately. |

I bought mine a couple months ago, it has constantly been plugged in, no issues at all!

To echo other’s experiences:
I’ve had my Range (8.6 firmware) on the car for just over a year and about 13,000 miles. Zero problems. No codes, no A8 shudder, nothing. Works perfectly. I just got back from a vacation yesterday where my Vert sat for 15 days with the Range plugged in the whole time. Started up easy/normally. Drove great. Excellent product.

I don't have issues with the AFM, just a few times i have felt when in kicks in, but i would like to keep the car for a while, regarding the lifter issues is the AFM range a must?

I also don't have any objections to AFM. Really can't feel it cutting in and out. I have the Range unit installed but have it unpluged. Fuel mileage took a pretty big hit with the Range. Was getting around 18 per the computer now getting 21.4. From most posts in the Corvette Forum the A8 shutter issue doesn't seem to matter if you have the Range unit or not.

I have the Range AFM Disabler (v8. 6) and have had no troubles at all with CELs or battery drain.
I bought it when I was still driving 50+ miles round trip to and from work, so I never noticed the minor hit on gas mileage. Then I retired and now I maybe put 50 miles a week on the car. The mileage hit is more significant under these conditions. I'm seeing about a 2 mile per gallon drop. So I removed the device for local driving and just reinstall it for longer drives because it really does improve the driving experience. My two cents...

Bearer of bad news: I bought the RANGE about a year ago. It was draining my battery, but not killing it completely in about 2 weeks. It was drawing 24mA, when it was supposed to only draw 1-3mA. I sent it back recently and they said the software was corrupted. They updated it and sent it back to me. Then I added a battery tender for times when I may not drive the car for a week.
It seemed to be working ok for a while. Then I noticed the trickle charger was taking longer to bring the battery up to full charge. I also just noticed that the unit was WARM when the car had not been driven for 2 days! (Parked in a garage.) Email sent to Range. Awaiting a reply. |
