Royal Purple Synchromax
Has anyone used this stuff in in the TR6060 ? ive been searching but Im usually seeing the redline or amsoil brand being used. I used it in my t56 and it really felt nice. A little notchyness isnt a bad thing, but the way it feels stock fluid imo is just horrid.
Any info is appreciated!

At 1500 miles I went from OEM to RP MAX ATF, it was a lot better. Then at 3000 miles I went to RP Syncromax and has been even better than the MAX ATF.
I would suggest it, it will make the world of difference in shifting in the TR6060 |

Yes I was thinking I'd read maybe 4.2 quarts. Here's a nice write up as well on "how to". http://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=492814

I noticed another thread about how someone described that the synthetic stuff MAY not be good for our 5th and 6th gears? My memory of it is cloudy and I don't remember the exact context but it was about synthetic transmission fluid vs manufacturer recommended.
Is there actually a debate about this? |

The service manual says the MM6 (TR6060) takes Manual Transmission Fluid (88861800), which is basically Dexron III. The M13 (TR3160?....Non V8 cars) states to use Dexron VI. GM also states that Dexron VI is an approved replacement for Dexron III applications. I have used 88861800, Dexron III, and Dexron VI and have found aftermarket fluids to perform better in every case. I am using Redline D4 in both my 2010 and my 2016 and it's perfect. I am also a fan of my friends CTS-V that he runs RP Syncromaxx. I have changed another friends 2016 manual over to Syncromaxx as well, and it works great. IMHO, those are the only 2 fluids that make these trans shift perfectly. I have over 130K on the 2010 and about 7K on the 2016. Myself and all my friends track their cars with these fluids and have had no issues at all. Redline D4 or RP Syncromaxx, you won't regret it.

I just put in RP Synchromax into my transmission yesterday, and all I can say it's the best thing I've done to my car yet. The shifts are more effortless and don't make that awful noise when you throw it into the lower gears. I believe it was 3.65 quartz according to other forum members, so that's what I went with.

I did a full trans and diff flush with RP synchromax and 75w90 gear oil respectively. I just drove it home from the shop, but I already noticed the smoother gear changes The diff is obviously not something you can feel, but I want to take care of my baby.
Do I feel like it's worth flushing your transmission fluid ahead of time? I think so... it's not a drastic change when shifting at higher RPMs, but it's a pretty significant change in terms of shift feel at normal speeds. I'll obviously have to drive the car some more as it's raining and I didn't get to do a lot of high RPM shifting. TL;DR - gear selection is noticeably smoother and I'm happy with doing a flush ahead of schedule.

I've tried both Royal Purple and Redline - prefer the Redline - really smooth shifts, even when cold

somewhatdamaged, which Redline fluid did you use?
I generally like Redline fluids better too; but I'd like to know other's experience as well. |

I took a few minutes to jack under tranny and remove X-brace, I still spilled it beyond drain pan, typical tranny drain for me, always a mess, but worth it.
