Why could we not put the tcm from a 2019 into a 2020 so we can tune the trans??? What would we have to do???

There's probably some reason as to why it wouldn't work, they did pull the 2016 T87 to 2017+ T87A locked ones so who knows what the reasoning could be.

It doesn't really have to do with the computer as much as how you write a file to it. I believe it has to do when you write to the tcm it has to verify it somehow on a chevy or 3rd party server too verify the write and its encrypted. Ford is switching to something similar on the 2021+ on some vehicles. If you snoop around on the hp tuners site you can see what I'm talking about in the gen5 chevy stuff.
