I wish Americans were more willing to accept diesel.

Yeah. ME TOO. Accepting diesel is only apart of the problem. I think in general we Americans just don't get it, like most of the world around us seems to.

We have a lot of growing up to do here. We need to embrace research into new technologies and stop subsidizing corn! If we stopped subsidies tomorrow, we might even help with the global food price dilemma.

It's a bite in the a$$ for companies to validate deisel, moreso that consumer acceptance that is preventing them from coming. Lutz said something about it in an interview somewhere....

Don't shoot the messenger. Half the reason I posted it was to prove to you Scotsman, that I don't hate diesels there are just issues with them......

I still think the biggest issue with diesels is the perception problem While they have good profitability in Europe, it could take a decade to start turning people toward diesels in America.

an extra $4500 for diesel engines makes them pretty much out of the question for anything smaller than a full sized truck. It won't pay off quick enough -if ever. Which sucks. I'd like to see diesels catch on, but the issues seem to be mounting. At least in the US. Wonder if the Canadian government will be stupid enough to match the extreme US standards comming up. They probably are.

I totally agree, But it was the global corn market that put pressure on the U.S. to produce less corn because we were putting other corn producing countries out of business... And of course we did it... Stupid.
