Are you sure it's not the DFCO? The engine will cut off fuel supply when decelerating quickly. This let's the left over fuel in the exhaust burn. It makes loud pops. Totally normal.

Honestly, if you are not data logging knock. Then I doubt you are feeling it. You can run low octane gas in these cars. Just can't get on it when you do. The ecm has a low octane table in the stock tune.
