Speaking of the compass, does anyone know if the compass could be replaced with the tank 'Range', as it is right beside the gas gauge in a 2023 Camaro 2SS?

Its likely that the compass needs to recalibrate after battery was disconnected.

Drive in circles in parking lot may be the way to help it self-calibrate. IIRC, chevy ss sedan requires this too.

As for replacing compass with tank range, not sure the screen supports that in an older DIC but probably yes on newer ones. ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE in CARTOONS and SOFTWARE.

The cluster software does not allow for user gauge/DIC customization either in the 2016-2018 or the newer 2019+ infotainment system (I would've loved to make some changes myself). Easier for gm to write and support, plus they can roll out new versions in the form of selling new models.

My compass would was not working for a little while. I pulled the negative battery cable off the battery, in the trunk, for about 5 minutes. The reconnected it and it started working again. I haven't had any problems with it since then.

Make sure you have a good battery. These cars do not like it when the battery gets old and weak.

Good luck!
