eLSD diff fluid change - what are your plans?

So the regular SS diff seems to warrant a 1500 mile change, (on a side note, I am glad we don't have this diff as they seem to be having lots of issues with loud noises). What are my fellow SS 1LE owners plans as far as a fluid change? It seems like the actual eLSD has it's own small fluid content as well, not sure if that is "sealed" or not yet. But, as far as the regular diff fluid, I am thinking about changing this at 1500 miles as diffs can have some metal shavings when new, and I will want this out. Anybody else thought about this yet, if so when do you plan on changing it? Anyone have the specific fluid info yet, same fluid as the regular SS diff?

I will probably change the diff housing fluid. Hopefully I can perform the fluid change without any complaications from the E-LSD external fluid. I'm almost at 1200 miles now so I will be doing this soon.

Okay cool, I will be following what you do...I still have awhile to go as I only have about 150 miles on mine so far.

Have you checked any of the Vette forums to see what they are doing?

Not yet, but being they have a transaxle it may be somewhat different...

True, but there are a lot track oriented folks in that community so it might translate to our cars.

I will be changing mine on 1/12. I have an AutoX on the 14th. It will be just slightly over 1,500 miles.

The drain/fill plugs are easy to find.

You will need a fluid pump to fill back up. Just like other diffs, fill until the fluid reaches the fill port. I'll be using OEM fluid.

It looks like the eLSD has separate service ports for the clutch fluid. I will not be changing that at the same time.

Relative to refilling, I would like to understand if fill procedure has any special requirements for the fluid going to the diff cooler.

No. You won't be changing all the fluid (as with any fluid cooler), unless you do a 'flush and fill'.

Right, I was wondering whether GM recommends doing a full flush when changing diff fluid.

I don't think so, usually just a drain/fill from what I have dealt with.

Reading the manuals it seems like the recommendation is to still replace the rear axle fluid after the first track event, and the track event should still come after 1500 break-in miles. That's what I intend on doing. Drain/refill after my first outing which will likely be laguna Seca in the next 2-3 weeks

I think I am doing mine before any track events. My buddies SS (different diff, yes) had some metal particles in the old fluid. I want that out beforehand...
