Being an A8 there's not much driver dialing it to do. Launch it and hold the pedal down.
From what I have read from countless others is don't footbrake it. Leave at idle and punch it which will flash the converter and launch you harder. A 1.6 60 will get you 11's as is.

I tried both. Foot Braking it and stabbing the throttle from idle. Two best runs came from foot braking it around 1500-1600. Stabbing from idle rasied the 60' into the 1.85 range.

That's only if you are on a tire.

My best is a 12.3 bone stock M6, on a shitty/leftover prepped track ( weekday fun drags )
run consistent 12.5's. My next step is drag pack, after that I will be hitting up PRAY. I'm still on the fence with my build, not sure if I want to go P1X or just do FBO. Goal is 600 WHP.

Keep practicing you'll get it.

Pray,

I tried both methods. Best runs were foot braking to 1500-1600 then smashing it to the floor. Simply samshing it to the floor lost a .10 on the 60', .08 on the 330' and was down almost 1.2 mph at the 1/8.

Best 2 of the 5 runs were foot braking.

What else is required?
Have you tried some weight reduction ?

With a DR and negative DA you should be there no question.

I don't know the characteristics of Nitto's but my Mickeys liked 20 lbs when I was near stock and 18lbs now.

Again, a 1.76 60' should be plenty in negative DA to get you an 11 slip but I would lower the pressure some more than 26 and leave at idle, it's been proven over and over again to be the best technique for quickest e.t.

I also disagree on the A8 comment, knowing your car and launching it correctly seperates the men from the boys. Good luck man, hope you get it.

You have to execute the off idle smash perfectly. There is much more to it than just smashing the gas. But if you have a technique that is working for you then rock it bro.

Snowblind,

I've not unbolted anything from the car but i have made sure that there was nothing in the car. Removed everything from the glove box and truck. Car is also running radials on the rear with a set of knock off vette wheels. The combo is about 4 lbs lighter than stock so nothing major. I'm looking at using a buddies set of skinnies on the front so that should help.

I completely agree that the negative DA should have put me in the 11's. When I came back and the time slip showed a 12 I was shocked as the run "felt" better than anything previous.

I'll play with pressures when I go back next weekend. If I went below 24 the car would bog leaving so I bumped it up until the 60' stopped improving but I dropped below 20 so i'll give it a shot.

The only think I can think thaty might be effecting the car is all of the transmission issues the car has had. The trans has been replaced twice and it's on it's 4th converter so I'm wondering if something isn't 100% with all of that.

If I get within a tenth I'll start pulling stuff out of the car to get there and stick my skinny buddy in the car.

I have 8 passes with low DA in the last few weeks

Sunday October 21st

11.83,11.82,11.91,11.95

The DA was at -18 and last run was at 350.

No Back seat and 1/4 tank gas.

Friday November 2nd

12.09,11.99,11.95,11.97

DA around 100 to 350 but more humid.

With back seat and half tank gas.

My setup is a 2017 2SS with A8 , K and N filter, 28" drag pack with mickey Street SS. NO tune ETC.

thats 7 upper 11 sec passes out of last 8.

I launch at 1600 to 1700 foot brake all nannies off on 24 lbs air 305/45/17 rears and cut 1.69 to 1.77 60ft times trap 114.5 to 115.5.

The tires Dead hook its very impressive off the line.

I run 50lbs in the sportsman fronts

Bone stock just Drag pack and air filter.

Best street tire run stock size but firestone indy 500 is a 12.07 march 31st with launch control.

My converter has been replaced in the last 2 months if that makes a difference.
