How is your morning going?
Because mine, not so well.
Woke up to this, and a note (I live in apartment). The note says to call them, their insurance will fix it. I'm parked well within the lines, if anything, closer to the other side (where my wife is parked) I hope I don't have to fight their insurance, I'm not settling for "fixed", as my car has less than 6k miles. sorry, I had to vent. |

Well that SUCKS!! I would be very thankful they at least had the decency to leave a Note........ My wife's BRAND NEW car (2018 Corolla XSE) had less than 200 miles on it, when some LOSER hit the back of it trying to turn into a parking spot at the Mall. No note left, and just over $1,000 to fix.
As much as this blows, I would be a bit grateful they left a Note.......Hopefully all will work out........

That sucks! It does give me some hope, in our screwed up world, that they left a note. It’s great to see someone taking onus.

Hope you get it taken care of to your liking, but to me I wouldn't go off on the person that did it since they are making an effort to make it right. I know you are mad. Anyone would be for sure, but its rare to see people own up to the things they do these days.

Be glad they left you a note. Most would probably just skate out of there. Just goes to show that there are honest people still left.

Vent a way, my friend. Not what you want to see when you come outside. Thank God your neighbor had character to make amends. Take pics of of your parking space position and hopefully it will be over soon without any more drama.

Hang onto the note for your insurance company to keep on file. What sucks the most now is that CARFAX will have it on record as a "collision" even though it's superficial. They don't get into details. Will be a huge hit in value when it comes time to sell or trade. Keep photos on file for when the time comes to prove to a private buyer that it wasn't a hit. A dealer won't give a crap.... they'll value on book and CARFAX only.

As far as Carfax is concerned, if the police didn't get involved, then your insurance is nearly the only way that Carfax would find out. Try to get both insurance companies involved and tell them you do NOT want to report to Carfax. I used to own a Charger [the good old "actually have space in the car" days ], someone rear-ended me, and I made sure that it didn't end up on my Carfax, because it wasn't bad enough for me to lose a shit ton of value over. Do the same!! Fight for that, if anything.

Well, since you asked.....I just got the estimate for my car. 10K and change and the shop expects another 2K once they tear into it. I'm without my car until mid December.
