I don’t know too much about all the Cup2 variants. I want an opportunity to push them harder when it’s cooler to compare corner speeds. I’m running 10.5” Superspeed wheels with 20mm spacers up front. Gearing is better at TMP with the smaller overall diameter and wheels are much lighter than stock. Both should help laptimes so tire grip may not be significantly better than SC3s.

Are you saying that Michelin Sport Cup 2's are no faster than Goodyear F1 SC3's?

The PP2 Stang tires, being the same (softer) compound as those on GT350R may be a different story, especially in a square 19 set up (more tire up front, better gearing, less rotating mass, plus quite possibly a stickier tire to start with) |

Did you get any quick laps in before the tires gave out?

MSRH CW Lap 1:46.7
(My first post on Camaro6, so I hope this comes out ok!)
Track: MSR Houston CW Full 2.38 Elapsed Time: 1:46.7 (1:46.5 by transponder) Model: 2019 SS 1LE Date: August 23rd, 2020 Tires: OE Goodyear Supercar 3, OE size Mods: Finspeed Evo Wheels (OE dimensions), G-Loc R10 brake pads, Motul brake fluid (Note about time difference between transponder and PDR - I had the PDR finish line a bit later than track start/finish, so when I lifted off the gas after the track S/F, it was still a few seconds until the PDR picked up the lap time. Lesson learned!) |
