Snow air deflector?

I’m not quite sure the actual description of this piece of large plastic
That seems to block airflow to the radiator on the 22” ZL1,
But I know there was a post about removal, while looking at
This large part seemingly partially blocking airflow, what is its
Stated purpose?, and can it be removed without negative
Consequences?

Probably to Block snow or ice. Mines been removed.

I get no water in my intake even washing car. Maybe if it was a downpour and your going 80mph. Other then that it’s pretty useless. Even with it removed it’s still not a straight path.

Pulled mine a long time ago. I don't track in the rain so I wasn't concerned.

Thx, but is there a link to remove, I’m not talking about the hood deflector, I’m talking
About the large piece of black plastic in the grill, in front of the radiator.

Are you talking about the crash bar? They cover it with plastic for looks.

Just remove the hood hinge, remove the radiator support, then you'll see the 3 plastic dumb body pins you need to remove. Make sure to have a long body tool to remove them. The bottom one is the pain.

Here’s a link on what I did to get to that part and remove it from the car.

remove the piece and snip the blocking piece off and reinstall...pretty easy and it is obvious what needs to be done when you observe where the air enters.

We just told you. It’s to help prevent rain/ice/snow from entering intake.

That's the front crash bar. It's got a plastic covering over it. The opening in the photo you posted is for a tow hook in case the car is undrivable and needs transported on a flatbed tow truck.
