SS 1LE Crash - 157mph

I know it is tempting to mash the throttle in these cars but stay safe folks.

As a retired law enforcement officer, I saw all kinds of stupid crazy car crashes involving all types of cars. Feel bad for the family. To the A-hole driving the Camaro, Play Stupid Games, Win Stupid Prizes.

It always seems to be the case, doesn't it? The offender surviving while others don't

I won't get preachy, but this is what happens when you don't respect the power of these things. I figure enough jail time and lawsuits to make sure that the only thing he can ever afford is a bus pass.

What a shame. Two families whose lives can never be made whole again. My heart goes out to both parties involved.

I was thinking that but didnt want to post it. I do not think this made contact going 157. I think something got his speed going that fast (RTCIC based system) and the news blows it up to make a story. No car is going to survive that at 80 let alone almost double that. Its just going to look like someone stuck an m80 into a beer can at that speed...... both cars.

This kid is done. Fines, restitution, jail time then the family's civil suit. Even by the grace of god he doesnt get jail time, the fines and restitution this kid is going to have to pay. The lottery may not even fix it.

He's going to learn a very expensive lesson. It's only going to get worse though now that several tracks are/have been sold off. Without a proper place to stretch these cars out we're sadly going to see more of these stories on the news.
