This is definitely not the part I was referencing. The top picture is in the vicinity of the snow/rain blocker.

Ill take a pic of mine, let me find it. Just a sec.

This is the piece. And it stands upright, single fastener pointing down.

Apparently he’s talking about something completely different though.

Oh that’s the part. What a PIA to remove. I used trim tools and double hinged needle nose pliers.

Guys, the OP is not talking about the air deflector for the air intake. He's referring to the crash bar cover behind the grille. To the OP: Do not remove that cover. Otherwise you'll just have the crash bar behind it which doesn't have air flow testing over it. GM engineers designed the crash bar cover in a wind tunnel. I've read from the GM engineers that the cover makes the crash bar nearly invisible when it comes to getting air to the radiators. GM knows what they're doing, don't remove the black plastic crash bar cover.

Ok, it’s covering for a crash bar?!, so what it’s for?,
Aesthetics?, do some remove it for more airflow
(Plastic only)?…..I’ve seen a past post, that seemed
To infer it would aid in cooling if removed?

I just wrote why NOT to remove it in my post above, and what it is for. It was designed in a wind tunnel to minimize turbulence and improve cooling behind the crash bar. If you remove it and leave the crash bar exposed, it will reduce cooling.

Hennessey installed custom radiators, removed that piece, and reworked the ducting to the IA on mine. I'll take pics when I do the 2650 next month.

I get it, but look at the title of his topic bud.

It’s not bad with right tool. And it does help with airflow.

I install a March Ram Air Kit on my 97 Mustang Cobra (back in the day) Scooped air from bottom. Added almost 4 MPH on my 1/4 mile trap speeds, no noticable cut in ET.
*I was racing a buddy's WS6 on a wide open road and his car only did 155, mine pulled to 160 mph with the only mods being underdrive crank pully and Ram air kit from March. We were both impressed as to the fact back then the Cobras only made 305 HP.*
