18's for track rims

I know several people run 18 inch time using the DH slicks. I am considering this set up for a ZLE but then in a passing comment someone mentioned issues with the traction management if you switch rim sizes. Was this fiction or have people had issues.

Thanks
Doug

It all depends on tire height, not rim size. Most systems allow a 3-4% difference in overall height before they start having issues. I personally ran a 305/680/18 on my SS 1LE which is a 26.8" tire. Identical in the front (285/30/20) 26.8" and slightly shorter in the rear (27.2"). The ZLE sizes are a smidge shorter, but you should not have much of an impact if you appropriately size the tires

With that being said, if you're running DH's you should probably be comfortable with PTM all off as who knows what the PTM will do with a true race compound.

If you already have a ZL1 1LE, those tires are phenomenal.
