One of the stand-out things, to me, dynamically, is the composure of the car. My '02 Z28, if it had more than half this cars power, would never put it down like this one does. I love the way it assaults my senses and just blurs time for just a few seconds of my day. I won't say I got used to the power, necessarily, but I never thought power like this could be put down, effectively, and with the control this car has over it. I'm not a big street racer, but love the strip, and the several seconds of absolute excitement this car gives. I don't drive it enough to get used to it, and that always makes it fun when I do make the time to drive it.
What I wanted in this car was something I wasn't scared to drive unless I wanted to be scared. I'm too scared to jump out of a perfectly good air plane, so sky diving is out, but, I imagine, this is as much fun as I can stand to have, safely, and controllably. It will scare me when I put my foot to the floor from a dig until I let off. I don't think I'll get used to that, and that's the point, for me. I know the car could make it scarier, if it wasn't as sophisticated, and if Camaro Team didn't do as good a job as they have. I'm not sure it can get better than this, on the whole.

I have noticed the acceleration feels more satisfying on cooler days; prob less timing pull, idk. Track mode seems to feel the best. It's quick enough to have fun though, especially in the first 4 gears (A10) imo. There are times I feel the top end could use a bit more (especially on hot days), but not worth risking warranty.

The title of this thread is wrong, it should say "My name is ... and I'm a hp-oholic"

I came from a 750hp Viper with no nannies. This car feels slow. I bought it for the heated/cooled seats, backup camera and Apple CarPlay. The HP issue will get fixed. Soon.

I know what he's talking about I think the small blower punches quite a wallop right at 1st but the biggest difference I saw when swapping to the 2650 rotor pack is that it has
that upfront punch and just keeps going and going till redline it doesn't have that starving feeling. I tried to explain this to people saying your only making 30rwhp more than when you over pulley'd your oem blower.. ya on paper but that's cooled off glory run for he LT4 blower, the 2650 keeps doing it over and over with no power loss and that 5 to 7k area pulls hard unlike the stock blower you can tell it struggling.

My ZL1 has enough hp for me! I mean, after all, I can use only some of the hp on the street unless I put it on a track and then I would want to build a racecar instead of tearing up my nice street car that I can enjoy driving. There’s only so much usable hp for street driving and definitely too much can get you into trouble if you aren’t responsible enough to keep it in check.

If money no object, I'd have a garage like Tony Stark with all kinds of crazy modded and un-modded cars :-) I'll wait for an AWD electric to get 0-60 in under 2 seconds, it wont be long. My next utility vehicle will be the Cyber Truck, tri-motor AWD w/full self driving, 0-60 in 2.9 :-) Last edited by SFV1LE; 10-07-2020 at 12:42 PM. |

Driven and raced fast cars all my life, so, immediately, but I am not yet as comfortable with 850hp traction challenges

Do water and oil temps stay where they were on warm track days after 15-20 minutes sessions, ie. water pegged at normal temp and oil at ~250-260? Last edited by SFV1LE; 10-07-2020 at 01:03 PM. |

Only had time for one track day so far. Engine coolant temps normal, oil ~210-220, trans normal. I'll hookup HPTuners and PDR next time.

I want one. Maybe I'll record the sounds of my car and play it through the cars speaker if I ever get it. |
