Track camber update. 19 ZLE

Hi guys,
Went to Road Atlanta yesterday with the 3Rs...
-2.7 F. .. -2 R

Dismounted them today and took a good look.
To echo what others have said.... its not enough.

I’m going to -3.5F , and -2.5 R... Fronts need more of a change than the rear.

Ymmv,
Bill

Macpherson strut cars its never enough camber is its part of there limitation design. Or more importantly not enough at the right times (compression) No matter how much static camber you put in it, I know every
ones head will now pop off.

ZL1 1LE calls for -3.7 in its track setting I believe.

Book calls for 2.7f and 2.0 r... that’s not enough...under load/compression it looks like the contact patch is only the outer half of the tire.... Im basing that on visual wear... some guy five fingered my pyrometer.

I’m going to Barber and Road Atlanta in July

It seems like everybody that tries more camber than -2.7 regrets it and ends up going back. The car supposedly feels twitchy on straightaways and under heavy braking.

Car did an unofficial 7:13 lap stock with 2.7/2.0 camber at the ring. I'm sure the team of factory engineers experimented with other settings and this was the best trade off.

Repman,
I’m down in Newnan, so maybe I’ll see you at the track. I drive my car almost daily , but I it in track alignment.,...I’ve read several comments here about needing more neg camber, but have not heard negative feedback on stability or braking... have you found any of those issues ?

2.0 neg on the rears doesnt look like enough to me either.... I plan to try
-3.5/-2.5..... have you changed your rear setting also ?

Thanks,
Bill Gillespie

Not to rob the thread, but how many people run in track camber on the street? is that a terrible idea?

Bill I run 2.4 neg in the rear but have been playing with the toe and sway bar setting to help cure a loose condition I’m happy with the way the car feels overall and get good wear evenly across the tires . I think not letting the Goodyear’s get above 34-35 psi hot Helps also
Look forward to seeing you at the track sometime we will be going to Roebling Road in July
