You've all talked me into it, I'm gonna try disconnecting it to see if I like it better. As long as I can still hear the exhaust when I want to, I really don't need background noise.

Yes but I said artificial because it sounds fake or cheesy like a fart can on a Honda. You are not hearing the intake sound naturally, it's being pumped into the cabin via the tube. Another reason for the use of the term "Artificial".

Thank you so much for this post, I’ve been looking for an easy solution to this for a little while and this couldn’t have been more perfect.

I would say my LT1 no sound tube intake sound is louder than my '16 SS was with it. Removing the "sound tube" on that car was my first mod.

You can buy plugs at your local hardware store for about $1.20 each which fit perfectly

I wouldn't call an LS1 an error, they were and still are great engines!

I will be deleting my sound tube shortly after I order the cap. But I do like the free wire pass hole thru the firewall. Great place to feed your wires, already used it for a gauge and soon to use it for line lock and 2 step.

It does clean up the engine bay a bit with less stuff.

Never the less. Removing the sound tube is a good thing. It goes directly against the poor fake engine noise that has come to be a trend in the automotive industry.
I have a 2020 with a sound tube lol

I MUCH prefer it without. It sounded less refined.

i have never really understood the hatred for the sound tube. i had it on, now it's off. honestly, i wouldn't waste my time taking it off. although it is just the sound air pressure hitting a diaphragm, it doesn't hurt anyone. the sound is mild, but is related to what the engine is doing. if i'm really bored & have free time, i might put it back on.

if you must have an intake plug, you can print my design for free.
